Oh, DSLR how I miss you!

If I want to take any pictures this week, I will have to get re-acquainted with my point and shoot camera.  I got a new one last year, but I hardly ever use it.  But with my DSLR on loan to my parents while they’re on vacation, I’m forced to become friends with my little Canon Powershot.  No fancy lenses, no shooting in RAW or manual mode, no macro photography … just me, my eye, some creative composing, lots of natural light, colorful and bright subjects (like the flowers below) and my little point and shoot.

I admit, I feel a little lost!

It’s okay though.  Doing without fosters a sense of gratitude and it’s always good to be reminded of how thankful I should be for what I have!

  1. You are a good woman to loan you DSLR out to anyone. But this is a beautiful shot - glad you still have your P&S.

  4. How wonderful to lend out your baby, I'm sure the rewards will be worth it. Some of our children have Canon point and shoots and produce amazing macros and other photos with them, almost as good as my compact zoom (I don't have an dSLR). A challenge to your ingenuity.
