Choosing Them

I would move heaven and earth for these three.  They light up my life.  I am their biggest fans.  Their smiles melt my heart.  Oh, how I praise my Heavenly Father for allowing me to be their Momma!

I ran across the following quote this morning …

“…when in doubt, choose the kids.  there will be plenty of time later to choose work…” [Anna Quindlen]

I don’t know who Anna Quindlen is, but I couldn’t have said it better myself.  I pretty much had to come to that same conclusion a few years ago when I stood at a crossroad … take a permanent teaching position that I had done for a year but really didn’t care for, pursue a different position or go back to being a stay-at-home mom.  I know not everyone has a choice so I am not here to judge women who work.  Many women work and take care of their families and do a superb job, but for me the choice was clear.  I could not do both motherhood and career well, so I chose to stay home.

The time I have with my kids is worth any and every sacrifice I had to make career-wise.  They are the reason I do what I do.
