Today, I thought I’d share some pics from Katelyn’s dance recital last weekend – especially for those family members who couldn’t be there in person.
Since this was her fifth year of dance, she received her five year trophy before recital #1 (she was in three total)! The 5th year is the first year that a dancer can earn an award so about a year ago, she told us she would dance long enough to get that award and then she might try a different activity. Then she found out, following this year’s recitals, that you actually get a trophy every year after that! So this week she decided she wants to dance for as long as she can get a trophy, which would be until her senior year in high school. Obviously, it remains to be seen whether she sticks with it that long, but for now she’s still in and I’m still all for it.
And she dances…
Seriously … isn’t she a cutie? It was so much fun to see all her hard work pay off with the culmination of an adorable dance number. I’m so proud of this girl!
(And from a photography standpoint, I’m so thankful for a good lens! While taking these pics, I was definitely closer to the back of the [dark] auditorium than I was to the front and yet my 100mm 2.8L macro lens did a super job. Thanks, again, to my honey for being willing to invest in my “hobby.”)
Having seen several performances in that auditorium... those pics are amazing!! They look like front row pics!!
ReplyDeleteyou know that lens remains my FAVORITE! this is just another awesome example of why!
ReplyDeleteshe is so precious! how fun for her :-D
