Feeling Purple-y

When I was looking through my recently edited images, I realized that I had quite a few purple shots so I thought I’d group them all together in one post.  Enjoy!

I’m thinking I really like the purple/green color combination!  It reminds me of my childhood bedroom!

Think Pink!

With the exception of the first shot of a gorgeous sunset that we were blessed to enjoy over the weekend, this post is all about flowers.  If you’ve followed my blog or my pictures for any amount of time, you know that besides taking pictures of my kiddos, flowers are by far my favorite subject.  (And sometimes I even prefer them over my kids because they always cooperate and never talk back!)

My macro lens has quickly become my favorite because it almost never fails me and it allows me to capture the details of a flower that I would not otherwise be able to capture.  I love getting really close and seeing things through the eye of my lens.  A friend of mine recently posed this question on facebook … “What is something that really makes you happy or passionate for life?”  Flowers and being able to capture them with my camera is one of those things for me.  I love me a good flower shot!

Without further adieu, I present to you my take on pink…

I’ve really enjoyed this color series and I thank those of you who’ve taken the time to take a look at my pictures and even, at times, leave comments!  You are all a blessing to me!  It’s such a gift to be able to see and enjoy all the colors of our beautiful world!

Blue

After a few days of absence from blogging in exchange for a few days of spending time with family over the holiday weekend, I am back to resume my color series.  Today features one of my favorites … blue!

Blue has always been one of favorite colors … it represents peace and calm … the sky and the sea (or lake as is the case here).

These shots span a period of a few weeks and are a representation of our visit to Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park as well as several outings on the boat at a local lake.

White

Isaiah 1:18 … “Come now, let us settle the matter,”  says the LORD.  “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”

Revelation 20:11 … Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it.  The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.

Revelation 19:14 … The armies of heaven were following him, riding white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.

Revelation 19:11 … I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True.  With justice he judges and wages war.

Revelation 14:14 … I looked, and there before me was a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was one like a son of man with a crown of gold on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand.

Revelation 6:2 … I looked, and there before me was a white horse!  Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.

Green!

What’s the first thought that pops into your head when you think of the color green?

For me, the word that comes to mind is life!  When I think of the color green, I immediately think of things that are growing and thriving!  And I think you’ll find that in these shots there is life…

…in the beautiful landscape that surrounds the waterfall

…in the peaceful scene of the bench … a quiet place to rest and rejuvenate one’s heart and soul

…in the vines growing and reaching towards the sun

…in the delicate form of a rare orchid

…from a weekend away with my love … providing life to a precious marriage and friendship

…in a garden full of vegetable plants

…in unique and beautiful plants and flowers … all created by God … all brimming with life

Red

Bright … brilliant … bold!  All words to describe the color red.

In these pictures, it portrays…

…nourishment for a fragile hummingbird

…a sweet summer dress

…my love on our anniversary outing

…God’s amazing creation

…a landmark at a favorite place
